Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how App Pulse Group LLC (“App Pulse Group”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website at apppulsegroup.com and our mobile applications for iOS and Android, including unspun, Handy Hank and Suppertime (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
- Account and profile information. Most of our apps work anonymously from first launch. If you create an account or add email recovery, we collect your email address and any preferences you set.
- Content you submit. Photos, PDFs, audio, text and other content you provide so an app can do its job — for example a photo of a home problem in Handy Hank, or a photo of your kitchen in Suppertime.
- Usage data. How you interact with the Services: features used, items opened, in-app signals, and time spent in sections. We use this to improve recommendations and product quality.
- Device data. Device and advertising identifiers, operating system, app version, language, and crash diagnostics.
- Location. Where an app offers location-based features, we collect approximate or precise location at the permission level you grant. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
- Purchase information. If you subscribe, our payments provider and the app store record your subscription status. We never receive your full payment card details.
2. What Each App Collects
The apps differ, so their data practices differ. In each case we collect what the feature needs and no more.
unspun
- Approximate or precise location, only when you enable local weather, and only at the permission level you grant.
- The categories and topics you choose, plus in-story signals, to tune what your feed surfaces.
- Reading activity such as which briefs you open, used to improve recommendations and product quality.
- Subscription status for premium features, managed through the App Store or Google Play and our payments provider.
Handy Hank
- Photos and PDFs you submit for a consultation, stored in private encrypted storage and deleted on a rolling 30-day schedule.
- Camera and microphone during a live Ask Hank session, relayed in memory to produce the answer and not retained afterwards.
- Your home record — assets, service history, reminders and past consultations — kept so the app is useful the next time.
- Subscription status for Pro, managed through the App Store or Google Play and our payments provider.
Suppertime
- Photos of your kitchen submitted for scanning, used to identify items and then handled under our retention schedule.
- Your household profile — dietary restrictions, allergies and preferences — kept so suggestions stay appropriate.
- Your inventory, meal plans and grocery lists, kept so the app is useful the next time you open it.
- Subscription status where premium features apply, managed through the App Store or Google Play and our payments provider.
3. Camera, Microphone and Photos
Some features need your camera, microphone or photo library. These permissions are requested only when you use the feature, and they are used only for that feature.
- Photos and documents you submit for analysis are uploaded to private, encrypted storage and are never made publicly accessible.
- Source media submitted for a consultation is deleted on a rolling schedule — currently 30 days in Handy Hank.
- Live camera and microphone sessions, such as Ask Hank, are relayed in memory to generate the response and are not stored as recordings.
4. Artificial Intelligence Processing
Our apps use AI models to summarize, classify, identify and answer. To do this, the content you submit and relevant context may be sent to our cloud infrastructure and to model providers acting as our service providers under contract. These providers are not permitted to use your content to train their own general-purpose models. AI output can be wrong or incomplete; see our Terms & Conditions for the limits of what these answers are.
5. How We Use Information
- To deliver, personalize and improve the features of our apps.
- To produce the summaries, identifications, plans and recommendations you request.
- To show local context, such as weather, when you enable it.
- To operate subscriptions and enforce usage limits.
- To diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and keep the Services secure.
- To communicate important updates about the Services.
6. Advertising
Some of our apps may show advertising, including through Google AdMob. Where advertising is shown, the ad provider may collect device and advertising identifiers and usage signals in order to serve and measure ads. You can limit this at any time:
- iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, and Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising.
- Android: Settings › Privacy › Ads, where you can delete or opt out of the advertising ID.
Google’s handling of this data is governed by its own policies, available atpolicies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
7. How We Share Information
App Pulse Group does not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising outside the ad-serving described above. We share limited information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Services — cloud hosting, AI model providers, analytics, crash reporting, subscription management and advertising — bound by contract and confidentiality.
- Authorities when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can manage notification, location, camera, microphone and tracking permissions from your device settings at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Our apps offer in-app account deletion where an account exists; you can also contact us at the address below and we will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, unless a shorter period is stated above for a specific category. We may retain anonymized or aggregated data, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you, indefinitely.
10. Children
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest for content you submit. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or by email, and the “last updated” date above will change.
